Sövdesjön
covers an area of 600 hectares and is a kilometre wide and three kilometres long. The lake is part of a larger water system with several lakes close by; its main feeders are two lakes, Snogeholmssjön and Sövdeborgssjön. Part of the lake drains into a river, Klingavälsån, that runs north and flows into another lake, Kävlingeån. There are three islands in Sövdesjön, one in a bay, Kyrkviken, and two in the lake’s southern section. It also has several shallows (see the map) and the shores are shallow only deepening after 10 to 100 metres to a depth of four to five metres. The deepest part of the lake is about nine metres.
